Inspirational People Development
Hutchinson Training and Development Ltd was founded in 2006 by Dr. Steve Hutchinson primarily to help research institutions to develop their early career researchers.
Building on the success of this venture, we subsequently expanded and now work very successfully in a range of sectors, and with a hugely diverse range of participants and needs.
Using a network of associates, but with the founder carrying out much of the delivery work personally we have an enormous wealth of knowledge and experience in understanding what an organisation might need and what individual participants want.
However, at core, we stay to true to the principles that we had on day one - a desire to provide truly inspirational development for people.
After doing his PhD in Behavioural Ecology and working in academia, Steve moved to the area of training and development. Over the last 9 years he has been an academic and research-sector skills trainer and has designed and managed acclaimed courses for a huge range of institutions.
Prior to setting up the company he led researcher development programmes at the Universities of York and Leeds and was the UKGRAD hub coordinator for Yorkshire and the Northeast.
A skilled facilitator and trainer, he is both a UK GRAD course director and tutor (both locally and nationally), and an associate and programme director for the Leadership Foundation for Higher Education. In addition, he is a qualified as both a coach and practitioner of Neuro-Linguistic Programming. He
writes articles and book chapters on a range of topics from creativity to motivation and has recently published his first
edited book.
